Worthingtons Partners participated in cycle ride to raise money for medical equipment for children in Northern Ireland suffering from cystic fibrosis
Graham Pierce and Alistair McKee recently teamed up with The Cystic Fibrosis Iron Man Challenge 2014 and Lea's Dream Team with the aim of raising £30,000 in 2014 to help buy medical equipment for children suffering with Cystic Fibrosis in Northern Ireland.
The 21 mile charity cycle from Donegall Quay in Belfast to Balyholme in Bangor will help buy "Vests" for children suffering with Cystic Fibrosis at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. Unfortunately there are only two "Vests" at the hospital so many children with Cystic Fibrosis in Northern Ireland do not get the opportunity to benefit from this equipment. The "Vest" is a medical device which uses 'High Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation' technology to help shift the sticky mucus in the children's lungs, replicating traditional physiotherapy techniques for children with Cystic Fibrosis. The vest makes everyday life easier for children living with Cystic Fibrosis
