Worthingtons were delighted to sponsor the Employers for Childcare’s Family Friendly Employer Workshop on 3 March 2016 held at Malone Lodge. Over 60 HR professionals from all businesses across Northern Ireland attended.
Maxine Orr, chaired the event and stated “she had the privilege of being on the judging panel for a number of years and each year the standards were higher and the ideas more creative and that workplace equality was about ensuring that employees were treated equally irrespective of their gender”.
Louise McAloon was one of the guest speakers. She highlighted recent case law on flexible and part-time working, discussing the important considerations for employers in this area.
The other guest speakers, who were the winners of last year’s Family Friendly Awards, included Frances Neely from Action Cancer, Steven Johnston from Adhaus Media, David McClurg from Edwards & Co, Nick Heath from MACS NI and Laura Lynch from Queen’s University Belfast and Debbie Donnelly from the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland.
The workshop was an extremely informative morning providing HR experts with the opportunity to share ideas and network by gaining innovative ideas to boost employee well-being and productivity in the workplace.
If your company recognises and actively promotes family friendly working practices, applications for the 2016 Family Friendly Employer Awards from Employers for Childcare open on Thursday 26 May.
