Commercial Property

Michael graduated from Queen’s University of Belfast with a degree in Law in 2011, before commencing employment as a Paralegal with the property department of a top tier law firm in Belfast.

With experience in distressed property sales and single wind turbine projects, Michael joined Worthingtons as an Apprentice Solicitor in 2016.  Michael commenced his studies at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in January 2017 and qualified as a Solicitor in September 2018.

Michael works with the Commercial Department of our Belfast Office specialising in commercial property.  Michael acts for a wide range of clients including companies, charities, financial institutions and private clients and is involved in a wide range of commercial property work including landlord and tenant matters, investment acquisitions and sales, secured lending and property aspects of business sales and acquisitions.

Career Highlights

  • Acting for a Northern Irish company during the vacation and reoccupation of premises in Belfast City Centre during large scale refurbishment (which included a lease renewal for those premises)
  • Acting for a Northern Irish charity on the acquisition of a development site within a business park in Newtownards
  • Advising a Northern Irish charity on the vacation of premises located in the ‘exclusion zone’ following the Primark fire in August 2018 and acting on their behalf in the occupation of alternative premises
  • Assisting in the sale of a prominent development site with a value of £1 million for a Private Client
