John Kelly

Employment Law

John joined Worthingtons in 2016 from the Belfast office of a leading international law firm.

John has considerable expertise in both contentious and non-contentious employment law work, focusing mostly on bringing and defending tribunal proceedings in Northern Ireland.  As well as providing practical day-to-day advice on employment issues arising in the context of corporate and property transactions, including collective redundancy consultation and the application of TUPE.

Whilst at Worthingtons, John has successfully represented a number of large employers, including local councils and housing associations, as well as small to medium sized businesses such as retailers, as well as charities.  John has also achieved a number of successful outcomes for employees in claims ranging from unfair dismissal to discrimination and equal pay proceedings.

Similarly to other members of the team, John has written articles on employment law issues for the local press and is a member of the Employment Lawyers Group.

John Kelly and his team are second to none! It was my pleasure to work with them on this case and I would recommend John Kelly to anyone! I look forward to working with the team in the future should we need any legal advice.
